Keeping warm at the University Library

I have been at the University Library, Cambridge for a few days putting together the last details of the exhibition I've planned on John Peters and his work. I was missing some information about the sale of the Vine Press archives which include wood blocks, galley proofs and original manuscript notes from Sir Herbet Read and the trial prints of Octavian. This typeface was designed by Will Carter and David Kindersley and the honour of first printing was given to JP and the Vine Press for Design and tradition: the design oration (1961) of the Society of Industrial Artists by Sir Herbert Read. Thanks to the late John Dreyfus and his careful archives, I have picked up a trail that takes me via RIBA, University of Loughborough, Check Books and to Gabriel Beaumont of Ulysses Books. In the meantime it was very chilly so I went exploring and took a few photos. The UL lends itself to well to photography and interesting angles.
